Solon City Schools

Construction Resources has been serving Solon City Schools since 1995 and has completed building exterior projects almost yearly. Many of the projects were roof replacement projects. In 2022, the roofs were replaced at Solon High School, Solon Middle School, Orchard Middle School, and Lewis Elementary School. The project totaled $2,300,068, and each was awarded below the estimate by at least 10%. The masonry walls above the roofline were repaired and had through-wall flashings installed to protect the roofs from moisture. Units and curbs were replaced to gain flashing height and improve interior air quality. Multiple roof systems were used based on each roof area's needs, knowing no one roof system works in all roofing situations. OSHA standards were met by adding guardrails where units were close to the roof perimeter. All projects were started and completed on time, allowing enough time for supply chain problems. This was possible by bidding on the project early enough to allow for delivery times to be achieved. CRI was onsite full-time to observe the quality on behalf of the School and conduct contract administration. All projects had long-term manufacturer warranties to protect the School in the future. CRI also obtained 5-year Contractor guarantees, well beyond industry standard timeframes.

As we look ahead to the future, we aim to foster long-term relationships with the Solon City School District by producing such top-tier results. Our contribution and the district's values of high-quality education will lead to a safe and high-quality learning environment for years to come.

"I have always been made to feel as though I'm their only Client; I never have to worry if a CRI Project is done correctly; Their attention to detail is amazing and their projects have always been ontime and under budget; CRI solved the issues."

Fred Bolden, Superintendent, Solon City Schools
